A Swiss club has been making history in the last few weeks. Back on April 8th, SC Bern of the Swiss National League became the first top level professional hockey club to hire a female GM, naming former goalkeeper Florence Schelling to the position.

Now Bern is going for star power in the ranks of shareholders. The two top NHL point leaders among Swiss players in the history of the NHL are now shareholders of the club. Roman Josi, of the Nashville Predators, who started his career with Bern playing there from 2006 till 2010 and then again during the lockout of 2012, and Mark Streit, who also played for Bern during the same lockout have acquired shares in the club. Streit, now retired, will sit on the board of directors. Josi will be represented on the board by his father, Peter Josi.

Josi told Radio Television Swisse that he is delighted to give something back to the club which gave him so much.
