On Wednesday Philadelphia Flyers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced the organization's signing of right winger Linus Sandin, to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Sandin, 23, has spent the entirety of his career playing in Sweden, including the last three seasons playing in the country's top league, the SHL (Swedish Hockey League), where he amassed 66 points (38G, 28A) in 143 games.

Fletcher spoke on the signing of Sandin;

"We are happy to have Linus under contract for next season. Our scouting staff has done an excellent job identifying him as a player who can come into camp and compete for a spot on our team right away. He works extremely hard and we expect him to add size, skill and tenacity to our forward group."

As Sandin will make the transition to hockey in North America, surely he will look to crack the Flyers NHL line-up and join his brother, Rasmus, who currently plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
