NHL Issues Statement on the Passing of Queen Elizabeth
The Queen of England passed away today, shocking the globe with news of her sudden demise. Queen Elizabeth was 96 years old, and she was in the 70th year of her reign as England's monarch. The NHL made the following tribute to the late Queen:
Queen Elizabeth is to be succeeded by Prince Charles II, former husband of the late Princess Diana. Further in the line of succession is Prince William, son of Charles and Diana.
The royal family is gathered in Scotland until tomorrow, at which point they will return to London and begin the coronation process for the would-be King Charles II.
