The news he was teasing is that the Habs are closing in on a multi-year extension with G Jake Allen. Allen led the Habs through some difficult sledding, he was arguably one of Montreal's best players last season. Sporting a .905 SV%, many nights he kept the team in the game and gave them a chance, which is all you can really ask from a goaltender. Kent Hughes stays having a busy summer, topping it off with a -- likely -- great signing.

The details on the deal have not been released yet, so if they throw like $6 million at him, then I rescind what I said about a great signing. On the other hand, if Hughes can lock up this goaltender for multiple seasons at, I don't know, $4M or less per season, that would be some tidy business.
