After falling to Team Canada 2-1 in the Women's World Hockey Championship in Denmark this past Sunday, American forward Abby Roque wasn't shy to share her displeasure with her opponents.
«I think they have lots of players who dive around,» Roque told reporters postgame. «I think it's ridiculous. It's not the way to play hockey. We play a tough, disciplined game. That's how we are."
«We want to play physical like hockey should be and they've got a lot of players who jump into the boards.»
It should be noted that each team scored one goal on the power play throughout the contest, with Canada converting one of four opportunities while USA converted one of three. Regardless of whether or not these comments were justified, however, they will only help with what has become one of the best rivalries in all of sports in recent years.
