Canadiens prospect Sean Farrell shares his thoughts on his development and his busy 2021-22 season

It was a season that Montreal Canadiens prospect Sean Farrell won't ever forget. It started out with beginning his collegiate career at Harvard. From there he was selected to represent the United States at the 2022 Beijing Olympics and then just three months later played for his country again, this time at the 2022 World Championship in Finland.

In an interview with NHL.com, Farrell talked about his whirlwind of a 2021-22 season and what he needs to do going forward as he hopes to make the Montreal Canadiens roster as early as the 2023-24 season.

Farrell did quite well for the Americans at the Olympics, putting up six points (three goals, three assists) in four games, including a hat-trick against the hosts, China.

The 20-year-old will be heading back to Harvard for a second season and he talked about a couple aspects of his game he wants to work on to compete at the NHL level.

In his freshman year at Harvard, the Hopkinton (Massachusetts) native was over a point-per-game player. Farrell put up 28 points (ten goals, eighteen assists), eleven penalty minutes and was a plus-six.

While it's too early to tell how his game will transition from the NCAA to professional hockey, it sure looks like the Canadiens have a steal in Sean Farrell, who was selected in the fourth round in 2020.

Depending on how Farrell does this coming season and if Harvard's season comes to an end early, it wouldn't be too surprising if he makes his NHL debut next spring.
