According to Swedish media outlet Expressen, Larsson has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with his former SHL club, Brynas IF. The contract includes a North American out-clause, meaning if an NHL team wants to sign Larsson, he can void his contract with Brynas IF.
Larsson, a native of Lau (Sweden), was drafted into the NHL in 2010 by the Minnesota Wild. He appeared in one game with the Wild and spent the remainder of his time in the NHL with Buffalo Sabres, Arizona Coyotes and the Washington Capitals. In those 488 games, Larsson had 132 points (53 goals, 79 assists).
Before coming over to North America, Larsson played two seasons with Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League, finishing third in team scoring during the 2011-12 campaign behind Jakob Silfverberg and Calle Jarnkrok.
