Just over two weeks ago, the NHL
released a statement on the allegations facing Edmonton Oilers' owner Daryl Katz. Katz denied the claims, and in a statement via his attorney, categorized the allegations as 'scurrilous' and 'malicious.'
Paul Grant of Sportsnet reported today that these allegations have been withdrawn, as they could not be proven in court:
The original claim suggested Katz solicited an underage ballerina into a sexual encounter in Las Vegas. However, the alleged victim's own driver's license revealed that she was, in fact, 18 at the time of the incident in question.
