A report out of Switzerland is quoting a source saying Montreal's Charles Hudon "has been proposed to several Swiss clubs and could soon land in the National League."

"Yes, there is a big interest for Charles Hudon in Switzerland now," a source tells Le Matin, a french-language daily newspaper in that country.

Hudon has had some very good seasons in the AHL, but has never managed to find much playing time in the big league. In 125 NHL games, the 25-year-old has 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 points. This past season, Hudon played in 15 games for the Canadiens, recording one goal and one assist.

Should the rules remain the same with the suspension of the 2019-20 season, Hudon will become a restricted free agent on July 1st after signing a one-year extension for $800,000 last year. There has been some speculation that he may not receive a qualifying offer from the Habs. Le Matin states a player of his caliber may be able to make more money in Switzerland's National League than he would in the NHL and would be considered a star player there.
