It seems like a strange time for hockey teams to be firing their head coach considering everything that's going on at the moment, but the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL have done just that. Former NHLer Eric Landry has been let go, with another former NHLer, Louis Robitaille, to be named as his replacement.

Landry had been head coach of the Olympiques since 2016-17 after serving for years as an assistant with the team. Prior to that, the 44-year-old had spent some time with the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens, as well as stints in Switzerland's National League and the KHL in Russia.

Robitaille had been coaching the Victoriaville Tigres of the Q league. Reports say he will be named GM of the Olympiques in addition to being the new head coach. He spent most of his professional playing career in the AHL with several different teams, although he did manage to get two games with the Washington Capitals in 2005-06.

Gatineau thanked Landry for his time during its official announcement, saying he "has always shown great loyalty and exemplary professionalism towards the organization."
