As Major League Baseball continues to deal with the COVID-19 work stoppage, the Houston Astros right-hander Justin Verlander has decided to help those in need.

Verlander and his wife Kate Upton announced Saturday on Instagram that they would be donating the proceeds from the rest of his paychecks this season to different charities, on a weekly basis, during the pandemic.

In the Instagram video, they highlight aid workers, first responders, and those who have fallen on hard times due to COVID-19 on who they would help financially.

Although, they did not specify which organizations would receive the donations, the couple did say that they would announce the first recipients after Verlander gets his first paycheck.
