Pittsburgh Penguins Re-Sign UFA F Danton Heinen
The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed UFA F Danton Heinen to a one-year, $1 million contract, the team announced today:
Heinen was an unrestricted free-agent who probably figured taking a one-year 'show me' deal was better than moving all of his stuff across the country.
A strong defensive forward, Heinen scored 33 points in 76 games for the Penguins last season. He signs as a cheap depth forward on a hungry Pittsburgh squad, and he will be playing for his next contract. It says something about the current state of the market that he signed at such an affordable deal for the Penguins.
