The Philadelphia Flyers received a tough blow on Tuesday, at is has been confirmed that prospect Bobby Brink will miss approximately five months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip.
Brink, 21, was selected by the Flyers in the second-round (34 overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and is viewed as one of their top prospects. The five-foot-eight forward is coming off of an incredible season with the University of Denver in which he recorded 14 goals along with a team leading 57 points in just 41 games. Once his college season came to an end, he signed his entry-level deal with the Flyers and was able to appear in the first 10 NHL games of his career, registering four assists over that span.
This injury is a tough blow to Brink, who had a great opportunity to earn a spot on the Flyers roster out of training camp this coming Fall. With this news, he likely won't be back until late December, meaning he may begin his 2022-23 season in the American Hockey League in order to get back up to speed.
