It was announced on Wednesday, by the Ottawa Senators organization, that a player on their roster had tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

Though the name of the player was not released, this would be the first NHL athlete to have tested positive for the virus. While speculations were made, nothing had been confirmed.

On Thursday, however, Sports Express writer and KHL TV Sideline Reporter Igor Eronko stated that reports out of Russia indicate Senators defenseman Nikita Zaitsev to be the player testing positively for Coronavirus.
