With the halt in NHL game play, comes a halt in work for arena employees, a widely spread concern for employees and fans alike across the league.

In the past days, we've seen teams and individual players across professional sports step up, offering aid to their out-of-work arena employees amidst the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), including Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Love and Florida Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky, both making charitable donates to the employees of their home arenas.

It appears now, the Vegas Golden Knights have joined in on the movement, with star goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury offering a $100,000 donation to all part-time and hourly on-call employees of T-Mobile Arena.

Following the Flower's lead, the Golden Knights organization, players and Vegas Golden Knights Foundation have pledged a total of $500,000 to the employees of their home arena, in efforts to help with unforeseen layoffs due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Marc-Andre Fleury, who found a home with the Vegas Golden Knights organization after being selected in the 2017-18 NHL Expansion Draft, spoke on the donation and the arena staff;

“A big part of what makes the Vegas Golden Knights game day experience so memorable is the staff working behind the scenes. As players we truly appreciate all the employees who work so hard in making The Fortress the best place to play in the NHL.”

He continued;

“They‘re just as much a part of the Las Vegas community as we are. My family and I hope that these contributions not only help those in need, but also inspire others who are in fortunate positions to step up and find ways to help too.”

Flower also noted;

“We can't wait to see the employees and our fans again soon.”
