After 19 seasons playing professional hockey, goaltender Jonas Hiller has decided to hang up his pads. His current team, EHC Biel-Bienne of the Swiss National League, made the announcement on Twitter.

"Jonas Hiller is rightly considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of Swiss ice hockey. With him we have reached the playoffs four times in a row...Goodbye and a huge Merci!," wrote the team on Twitter.

Despite not being drafted, Hiller spent nine seasons in the NHL, mostly with the Anaheim Ducks, as well as two seasons with the Calgary Flames. He was named an NHL All-Star in 2011. He was also awarded the Jacques Plante Trophy as the best ice hockey goaltender in Switzerland three times (2002, 2005 and 2007).

Hiller, 38, has represented Switzerland at the international level several times, including the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
