Barry Trotz Informs Winnipeg Jets That He Will Not Accept Head Coaching Position
Barry Trotz has reportedly made a decision on his immediate coaching decision. Per Darren Dreger, sources indicate Barry Trotz will continue to focus on family rather than make an immediate return to an NHL bench. Although, an eventual return has not been ruled out:
The Winnipeg Jets will continue to search of their head coach for the 2022-23 season. Dreger reports they will immediately begin conducting second interviews with previous candidates, indicating the Jets were all-in on Trotz. For good reason, mind you. Trotz, 59, clearly still has gas in the tank, however, it has been widely speculated that he is eyeing a transition into management rather than carrying on coaching. Which makes sense, as the grind of being an NHL head coach is a grueling one.
