Jared Bednar Speaks on Kane Hit, Kadri's Status Post Game

Nazem Kadri left Game 3 after a dangerous cross-check from Evander Kane. With Edmonton trailing two (now three) games to zero, Kane seemingly tried to shake up the Avalanche by taking shot at one of their key forwards. He was successful, as he took Kadri out of the game in exchange for a five-minute major that resulted in zero goals. Though, Colorado would emerge victorious. Here is the hit for reference:

After the game, much ado was made over Kadri's condition. Head Coach Jared Bednar confirmed in his post-game presser that Kadri is done for at least the rest of this series with what appeared to be an upper-body injury. When asked about the hit, he called it 'the most dangerous hit in hockey.' As for the problem this now poses Colorado, words don't do it justice. Kadri is a massive component of the Avalanche team. How big? Only Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, & Johnny Gaudreau have more primary shot and scoring chance contributions at 5v5 in the playoffs. To say they will miss his services would be an understatement.
