Spittin' Chiclets, the number one hockey podcast in North America, is known for their personalities, stunts, and fan interactions. Two co-hosts and good buddies, Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney made a bet early in the season on their popular podcast. The bet was simple: which Pacific division team would progress further in the playoffs - Whitney's Edmonton Oilers or Bissonnette's Calgary Flames.

Throughout the regular season, the guys talked about how each team was doing and chirped one another mercilessly. As fate would have it, the two Alberta teams would meet in the playoffs and settle the bet once and for all.

If Bissonnette and the Flames won, Whitney would have to pierce his ear and wear a large cross earring for one month. If Whitney and the Oilers won, Bissonnette would have to shave just the top of his head and leave the sides.

After dropping Game 1 to the Flames, the Oilers won four straight to send them to the Western Conference Final. Whitney won the bet behind an outstanding series from Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evander Kane.

The Spittin' Chiclets crew decided to go to the first Edmonton home game of the Conference Final, and it just so happens that TNT (whom Bissonnette works for) is also covering the West series. Prior to puck drop, Bissonnette agreed to pay up on his bet and get his head shaved. He allowed Whitney to do the honors around a crowd of Oilers' fans (there was a trained hair-stylist on standby to even everything out once Whitney was done).

Bissonnette was a good sport about the bet. It's likely that these bets will continue on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, as the guys never seem to agree about anything. TNT was happy to air the hair cutting on their pre-game show, where Bissonnette is a panel member. If nothing else, it was quite entertaining.
