Brock Boeser's family made public yesterday that his father, Duke, was 'skating his final lap.' He suffered from Dementia for some time after suffering a pulmonary embolism in 2020, a battle Brock has dealt with publicly for the past couple of years. Most recently, he broke down during the Canucks's season exit interviews when a reporter asked about Duke's condition. After the story circulated yesterday, the Canucks shared a tribute to Brock & his family:
Duke was a massive influence on Brock's hockey career as well as many, many others. Ben Hankinson, Brock's Agent, also shared a video of Duke reading the Canucks post-game lineup a few years back & it was a tear jerker.
Best wishes to Brock & the Boeser family through this painful time.
