USA Hockey has announced that back-to-back American Hockey League MVP T.J. Tynan has been added to their World Championship roster for the rest of the tournament.

The 30-year-old is the fifth player in AHL history to win the MVP award back-to-back. In 62 games this season with the Ontario Reign, Los Angeles' affiliate, Tynan had 98 points (14 goals, 84 assists), 18 penalty minutes and was a plus-12. He added three points (one goal, two assists) in five playoff games.

Tynan has represented the United States once before, at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship where they finished third in the group stage and had to play in the relegation round.

The Orland Park (Illinois) native should arrive in Finland very soon and could be in the lineup as early as Saturday against Sweden.
