Long-time Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson told TSN1200 radio on Thursday that if the opportunity arose, he would be interested in returning to the organization in an off-ice role.
"I haven't pushed to be involved with the Sens, but there is an interest, that's for sure", Alfredsson said.
The 49-year-old spent seventeen of his eighteen seasons in the National Hockey League with the Ottawa Senators, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2007. He leads the Senators in all-time games played (1,178), points (1,108), goals (426), and assists (682).
Alfredsson, a native of Gothenburg (Sweden), spent two seasons with the Senators following his retirement as their Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations, but left that role in July 2017.
