The Florida Panthers fell behind twice in Monday's game, but managed to pull out the win in overtime to tie their series with the Washington Capitals at two games a piece.
Washington opened the scoring in the first period on the powerplay as T.J. Oshie tipped in a shot from the point from Capitals defenceman John Carlson.
About seven minutes later, the Panthers tied it courtesy of forward Carter Verhaeghe, who scored his second of the series.
The second period saw no action and the teams headed to the third period tied up at 1-1. Nearly half-way through, Evgeny Kuznetsov scored his second of the series to give the Caps a 2-1 lead.
With just over two minutes remaining in the third period, Panthers forward Sam Reinhart tied the game at 2-2 and forced overtime.
Panthers forward Carter Verhaeghe scored nearly five minutes into overtime to give his team a 3-2 victory and now will head back to Sunrise (Florida) with the series tied up at 2-2.
Puck drop for Game 5 on Wednesday night is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada.
