Another strange twist in the ongoing saga between the Vegas Golden Knights and goaltender Robin Lehner. Earlier Friday, it was revealed by two reporters that Lehner required knee surgery and would not be back with the team this year. That included the post season, should the Golden Knights make it in. This seemed like a huge blow to the team, and head coach Peter DeBoer was asked about it when he appeared in front of reports.

"Not to my knowledge. It was a maintenance day today. I expect him at practice tomorrow. I expect him dressed on Sunday," said DeBoer.

Things have been getting a bit weird between Lehner and DeBoer lately. After a recent loss to the New Jersey Devils, DeBoer laid the blame on Lehner saying he expected him to be better and adding that all three goals he let in were soft. Lehner would start the next game against Washington, stopping 12 of 13 shots in the first period. When the team came out for the second period, Logan Thompson was in net. He would finish the game, getting a 4-3 win in overtime. Asked why Lehner was pulled, DeBoer said he felt the team was rattled after the first goal. He was then asked why Lehner started, and said that's what he's paid to do.

Fans are starting to wonder if there's a rift between Lehner and the Golden Knights, specifically when it comes to DeBoer. They are right to do so. Something seems off here. As for the reports that he needs surgery, which came from a few credible sources, I guess we'll find out for sure on Saturday during the Golden Knights' practice.
