Islanders bring promising young prospect to North America
The New York Islanders have decided to bring one of their most promising young prospects to North America. Aatu Raty, who spent the season with Jukurit Mikkeli of the Finnish Elite League, has been assigned to the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL.
Raty had a great year in SM-Liiga. He had a slow start with just one point, an assist, in six games with Karpat. However, he then moved to Jukurit where he put up 40 points (13G, 27A) in 40 games.
Raty was at one point projected to be a top three pick, and perhaps as high as first overall, in the 2021 draft. He slipped all the way to 52nd after a slow year in the Finnish Elite League. He seems to be on a mission now to prove everyone wrong.
