Barzal gets fined for holding Marner's jersey from the bench (w/video)

Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs told reporters following the game that it was something that had never happened to him before while playing hockey. In a match against the New York Islanders, Marner was standing near the Isles' bench when Barzal grabbed his jersey and wouldn't let go.

"That's pretty funny," said Marner sarcastically. "Hopefully he gets fined for that. That would be great."

Marner went on to say he's been playing against Barzal for a long time and considers him to be an excellent player.

"He's a hell of a player and lots of fun to watch out there, but it's definitely a first," said Marner. "Pretty funny."

Late Monday afternoon, it was announced that Barzal had indeed been fined for pulling Marner's pulling. The cost is $2500.
