Blue Jackets welcome back Josh Anderson and David Savard (video)

Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson and defenceman David Savard returned to Columbus for the first time since leaving the Blue Jackets in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The team honoured both of them with a video tribute during the first TV timeout during the game.

Anderson was a fourth round pick of the Blue Jackets in 2012, and spent parts of six seasons with them. In 267-career games with Columbus, Anderson had 115 points (65 goals, 50 assists), 212 penalty minutes and was a plus-27. He was traded to the Canadiens in October 2020 for Max Domi and a third round pick.

As for Savard, he was a fourth round pick of Columbus in 2009 and played parts of ten seasons with the Blue Jackets. In 597 games with Columbus, he tallied 166 points (41 goals, 125 assists), 331 penalty minutes and was a plus-24. The Blue Jackets dealt Savard to the Tampa Bay Lightning in April 2021, where he went on to win a Stanley Cup.
