Jerry York coached the Boston College Eagles for 28 years & has won more games than any other coach. York has 5 National Championships to his name, four of which came with the Eagles; Bowling Green State University. His retirement has been in question for a couple of years now, but the college hockey legend felt the time was right now:
Boston College hasn't seen much success in recent years, but the program's storied history speaks for itself. Some of the NHL's best call BC their alma mater. Johnny Gaudreau, Thatcher Demko, Chris Kreider, Cam Atkinson, all played under Jerry York, among dozens of other NHLers past & present.
York's mark on hockey cannot be overstated, and he will be missed.
Best of luck in retirement, Mr. York.
