Hershey Bears Reach Huge AHL Milestone

The Hersey Bears are the first team in AHL history to amass 3000 wins. Not necessarily a milestone that is tracked all that regularly, but this is a big milestone.

Founded in 1932, 4 years prior to the formation of the AHL, the Hershey Bears are the cream of the crop. They are routinely in competition for the Calder Cup & constantly feed their NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals with well-developed talent.

One of the cooler events in hockey is Hershey's teddy bear toss; one game a year, after the Bears score their first goal the crowd is invited to litter the ice with teddy bears. All the stuffed animals tossed onto the ice are used to donate to local charities. It's an awesome event, & this year they set the world record with 52,341 stuffed animals.
