Devils' Damon Severson cusses himself out after mistake in OT (Video)

The New Jersey Devils defeated the Montreal Canadiens in overtime Sunday, but a major mistake by Damon Severson during the 3-on-3 almost cost his team the game, and he knew it right away.

With under a minute left in extra time, the Devils were pressing in the Canadiens zone. However, Severson attempted the pass back to his own zone in order for the team to be able to reset. It hit off the boards and possibly the official, landing on the stick of Mike Hoffman who managed to get himself a breakaway.

You can instantly hear Severson yell loudly "Ah, f--k me!" when he realized Hoffman was getting the puck and going in all alone. Luckily for him, Hoffman's shot rang off both posts without ever crossing the line, even though he celebrated like he had scored. Severson would break his own stick over the Devils net in frustration. The play was reviewed and it was determined there was no goal. New Jersey would go on to win in the shootout.
