The New York Rangers accomplished an impressive comeback against the Islanders yesterday and ended up winning the Stadium Series outdoor game hosted in New Jersey 6-5 in overtime.

In the game's final moments, a penalty by the Islanders' Scott Mayfield led to a crucial goal for the Rangers, forcing overtime.

Following the loss, Mayfield faced a lot of criticism on social media, forcing him to delete his account.

Some disheartened fans directed their disappointment at Mayfield on X, blaming him for his penalty in a harsh way.

Mayfield chose to deactivate his account after the comments.
