After ten seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, forward Jakub Voracek is expected to leave the team in the off-season via trade or through the expansion draft. Voracek has reportedly requested a trade from the Flyers and will be left unprotected ahead of the Seattle Kraken expansion draft next week.

In his weekly 31 Thoughts article, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman said that the Flyers will definitely make a push to try and trade the Kladno, Czech Republic native if he's not selected by Seattle on July 21st.

"I'm going to stress that this situation has been described as «not acrimonious» to me, but Philadelphia and Jakub Voracek have discussed that it might be time for a change, as well. Voracek is expected to be left unprotected for the expansion draft (and was told so), where former Flyers coach Dave Hakstol would weigh in. Should that fail, Philly will look elsewhere. There are three years left on his contract, with cash slightly lower than his cap hit of $8.25 million. Both sides are also prepared for the possibility a trade won't occur, so he stays put. But there will be a legit attempt to move him," Friedman said.

Voracek, 31, has three years left on his contract with a $8.25 million cap hit and he'll become an unrestricted free agent after the 2023-24 season. In 53 games this season, Voracek tallied 43 points (9 G, 34 A), 18 penalty minutes, and was a -12.
