The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of business against the Buffalo Sabres tonight. Despite the rout by the Maple Leafs all of the headlines are going to the melee that happened at the end of the game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Buffalo Sabres tonight. The Leafs were looking to take down a desperate Sabres team holding on to playoff hopes by a thread. The game ended up being dominated by the Maple Leafs including goal number 60 from
Auston Matthews.
In the final moments of the game Buffalo Sabres defenseman
Rasmus Dahlin went to hit Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman TJ Brodie. After
Rasmus Dahlin hit TJ Brodie another player in
Alex Tuch came in and plastered TJ Brodie into the boards.
The Maple Leafs players on the ice did not take kindly to this and went after
Alex Tuch. As usually happens in these situations all 10 players on the ice ended up in a massive scrum.
CHAOS IN THE FINAL MINUTE
After both teams had enough they were separated by referees and penalties were handed out. The referees went harsh with the punishment and ejected all 5 skaters on the ice for both teams. The Buffalo Sabres would also get an additional penalty for the trip of TJ Brodie along the wall.
