Connor Bedard and Patrick Kane faced off last night for the first time and the two nearly dropped the gloves in front of over 20,000 fans!

Last night Connor Bedard made headlines for laying this hit on Patrick Kane.
Following the game and the eventual Red Wings victory, Patrick Kane commented on the incident revealing that he was ready to go after Bedard but acted maturely in the moment.
"He's lucky he had the bubble on, or I was going after him."

Bedard was wearing the bubble as a result of the jaw injury he sustained earlier this season versus the New Jersey Devils.
While it is unfortunate we did not get to see the two Blackhawks' first overall draft picks drop the gloves, we certainly were treated to an entertaining game with a storybook ending as Patrick Kane won it all in overtime.
Kane and Bedard will next meet during the 2024-25 campaign as the Red Wings and Blackhawks do not face off against each other till then.
