The rivalry between Drew Doughty and Matthew Tkachuk has certainly been an exciting one, and it doesn't look like it is coming to a close anytime soon. Following Tuesday night's game, Tkachhuk was told that Doughty wants to bury the hatchet with him, to which he responded "I'm excited for Round Two in two weeks in LA"

Doughty had some post- game comments of his own regarding the rivalry. "Honestly, you guys made it better because you keep talking about this and making it bigger than it is...You guys make a bigger deal than we do. Like I said, he's just trying to play a good game and as much he doesn't want to say it, he knows I'm a really good player and he's trying to get me off my game. Really he's just feeding into my game," Doughty told the Calgary Sun.

Tkachuk and Doughty faced off against each other for the first time in the 2019-2020 season on Tuesday night, and both players had impressive nights, with Tkachuk picking up 2 goals and one assist, while Doughty recorded one goal and two assists in the Kings 4-3 win over the Flames.

The main focus heading into the game was obviously the Doughty-Tkachuk rivalry; which has been going on for the past two seasons. Doughty added some fuel to the fire during Monday's post practice scrum, when he was asked why their bad blood hasn't been squashed and if it could have been solved with a compliment. Doughty responded with, "I think we both know who the better player is, so if he wants to compliment me first, I'll give him one back."

Doughty ended up getting the last laugh, as he scored the overtime winner in Tuesday night's game against the Flames.
