When the St. Louis Blues take on the L.A. Kings on Saturday, they will be forced to do so without forward Brandon Saad due to COVID-19 protocols.

Saad, 28, is in his first season with the Blues after signing a five-year, $22.5 million deal with them this summer. He has gotten off to a solid start with his new club, scoring a goal and two points in three contests so far. Hopefully for both his and the Blues sake, he is able to get back into the lineup in the near future.

Heading into 2021-22, many expected the Blues to be a bubble team when it came to the postseason. Though it is still early, they have come out of the gates hot with a 3-0-0 record. If players like Saad are able to keep up their hot starts to the year, this could be a team that contends for the Stanley Cup.
