Some of the rough stuff broke out Friday night in a game between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers. In the first period, the Bruins Connor Clifton and the Flyers Nicolas Aube-Kubel decided to drop the gloves for a short, but pretty good tilt. Both landed some pretty good punches before the refs stepped in, but we have to give the decision to Clifton on this one just based on significant strikes.

In the third period, Clifton laid out the Flyers' Oskar Lindblom with a hit that was definitely late and possibly to the head. There should have been an interference penalty on the play, at the very least. The angle makes it appear that the head is likely the main point of contact as well. While Lindblom's head was down, it is not legal to hit a player in the head under any circumstance if the NHL deems the contact to be avoidable. Lindblom would head to the back and did not return.

The Bruins would end up winning the game 2-1. There is no word on any possible supplementary discipline for Clifton. Following the game, Philadelphia coach Alain Vigneault had no update on Lindblom.
