A Boston television station is now the butt of more than a few jokes after interviewing Hall-of-Famer and former Boston Bruin Jarome Iginla and not even recognizing the 1554-game NHL veteran.

Boston 25 news had been interviewing folks in the area to get their take on the heavy snowfall in Boston, one of which, hilariously enough, happened to be Iginla, who decided to relocate to Boston after his retirement in 2018, after falling in love with the city following the season he spent there in 2013-14.

"I like the snow," Iginla told Boston 25's Lisa Pappas. "I like the winter, but not necessarily this. May be a little too much."

Iginla, who spent 18 seasons with the Calgary Flames knows a thing or two about cold and snowy winters, but what he and the rest of the Boston-area residents had experienced during this weekend's snow storm was excessive, even by Iggy's standards.

"Pretty tough, we're from Canada, so it's not too crazy," he said. "I mean, we got some winter tires. Used to this growing up so, it's not great, I'll tell you, you get some tough stretches. But if you don't go too fast, it's doable."

Iginla was inducted into the NHL's Hockey Hall-of-Fame earlier this year with a 2020 class that also included Marian Hossa, Kevin Lowe, Kim St-Pierre, Doug Wilson, and Ken Holland.

I don't mean to poke fun at the Boston TV station, but it's really quite funny when a random Twitter-user recognizes a professional athlete ahead of a media outlet that no doubt employs a sportswriter or some other form of sports journalist/reporter.
