It all started out innocently enough, with a fan sharing an amusing story of meeting Jakub Voracek. However, it didn't take long for Voracek, who has always been one to speak whatever's on his mind, to get wind of it and fire back.
The Setup
Attempting to get engagement during the usually slow summer, BarDown posted a question on Twitter asking followers to share stories of meeting NHL players randomly. Here's what came from one person, exactly as they wrote it on Twitter.
"Tried taking a selfie with Jake Voracek and he gave me stared at me either confused or annoyed." - CFlo_76
The Response
It's not clear whether Voracek was informed of the story, or just happened to randomly come across it, but his reply made him seem less than impressed.
"I wanna know when and where cause I'm busy with kids or hammered I always do that for people. so you either lie or I was drunk." - Voracek
It was only after the fan shared the photo he got of Voracek, in which the NHLer looked like he hadn't slept in days, that Voracek backed off some.
"Hahahahahah. fair enough. I was propabky dying out there😂" - Voracek
The fan ended the interaction by saying they probably deserved the look because it was during practice and they were by the boards alone trying for a photo.
