We all know Connor McDavid is good. One of the best players of the 2000s so far, and he's only in his early 20s. At least one legend believes McDavid has the ability to etch his name as one of the best to ever lace them up in the NHL.

"But we've had Mario (Lemieux), Wayne (Gretzky), Sid (Crosby), and there's a guy out in Edmonton now," Bobby Orr told WEEI's Dale & Keefe. "Before this is all over, however the players are rated, they might be dropping down one by the time Connor McDavid finishes. He's going to be up there."

As it stand right now, Orr believes the best player to ever play in the NHL is Gordie Howe, despite the fact that no.99 Wayne Gretzky holds the vast majority of major offensive records in the league. However, Howe recorded the most games played in NHL history, and retired as the league's all-time goals (801) and points leader (1,850). Howe also won four Stanley Cups, six scoring titles, and was a 21-time All-Star, all while being named MVP six times.

As for McDavid, there's no denying his talent and his ability to make seemingly impossible plays look easy. At just 23, his 1.34 points per game ranks fifth all time among players who have logged 300-plus games played. He's also been named league MVP once, while grabbing two scoring titles, two Ted Lindsay awards, and three All-Star Game appearances.

It's worth noting that Orr has a strong connection with McDavid. His agency, the Orr Hockey Group, represents the Edmonton forward.
