Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Tatar said over a conference call Tuesday that he has fully recovered from a shoulder injury suffered on March 3rd.

“Actually, I was about to be cleared to play before the stoppage happened, so it wasn't anything major,” said Tatar. “It was actually one of my first injuries through the season. It wasn't easy for me to watch guys play. Me, as a teammate, I wanted to be on the ice with them and I truly missed it. But as of right now, I'm cleared to play and even if the season would start tomorrow, I would be good to go.”

Of course, no one knows when or if the NHL season will continue. The league suspended play back on March 12th due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and it remains up in the air as to whether or not the NHL will resume play. Regardless, it would not matter a ton to the Canadiens, as they were well out of a playoff spot with just 11 games remaining on their schedule. It is good news however that one of their best players is healthy.

Tatar was having his best statistical season to date prior to the injury. The 29-year-old Slovakian forward had 22 goals and a career high 61 points through 66 games this season. He has just one season remaining on his deal, which pays him $5.3 million per season.
