Jason's contract is a one-year deal that will pay him $700,000 at the NHL level and $50,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level. He will also receive a $25,000 signing bonus. David's contract is a two-year deal that will pay him $700,000 in 2020-21 and $832,500 in 2021-22 at the NHL level and $70,000 at the AHL level for both seasons.
“David and Jason both had very productive senior seasons this year,” Waddell said. “We've been pleased with David's progress over his four years at Boston College, and his brother Jason was recently named a Hobey Baker Award Finalist. We're excited to see what they can accomplish at the professional level.”
David is the younger brother at 22 years old. He just finished his fourth season with Boston College, where he put up 39 points in 32 games. He was named the Eagles' captain going into this season, and finished third on the team in points. He was taken by the Canes in the sixth-round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Jason, 25, just wrapped up his third season with Sacred Heart University. He had an extremely impressive year with 20 goals and 37 points in 34 games, and was named a Hobey Baker Award Finalist. His three shorthanded goals on the season tied him for first amongst all Division I skaters.
