Eleven NHL players have now tested positive for COVID-19. Sportsnet expert Chris Johnston thinks this may put both hub cities in Canada.

After three players and two staff testing positive for COVID-19, forcing them to shut their practice facilities down, there have been questionmarks concerning the readiness of American states. In total, eleven players in the league have now tested positive, including Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews.

This may also further slow down the negotiations between the league and the players association. A security protocol for Phase 3, where the teams are meant to hold training camps, has yet to be agreed on by the parties.

Sportsnet expert Chris Johnston thinks this increases Canada's chances of getting both hub cities: "I think this will have the NHL strongly considering two hub cities in Canada," Johnston said. Johnston's full reasoning can be heard on Sportsnet.
