If anyone knows a thing or two about setting records, it's the immortal Jaromir Jagr. Second in NHL history in points to Wayne Gretzky (1951 to 2857), third in games played (1733) behind mark Messier (1756) and Gordie Howe (1767). Third in goals (766) to Howe (801) and Gretzky (894).

Jagr is still playing at age 47 for HC Kladno (which he also owns) and recently scored two goals in a 5-3 win against Liberec.

Jagr's advice to Alexander the Great? Go for it. Ovechkin currently has 659 goals, 13th all time with Luc Robitaille (668) in sight. It still seems like a mountain to climb to Gretzky's record, but Jagr believes that if anyone can it, it's Ovi.

"If Ovechkin keeps playing in the NHL, he will pass Gretzky," said Jagr in an interview with Pavel Lysenkov. "It's up to him. To stay and be the best (goal scorer) of all time, or go home and enjoy family life.

"I'd stay if I was him. So many tried to beat the unbeatable record. It's his decision though. He has a family and he may have his own goals in life."
