The Ottawa Senators will be without the services of starting goaltender
Matt Murray for the immediate future, as the Thunder Bay, Ontario native suffered a head/neck injury during Saturday's game against the New York Rangers.
The injury came late in the third period, with the Rangers on the power play when winger
Chris Kreider accidentally kneed Murray in the head after scoring the Rangers' first goal of the game - causing Murray's head to snap back, forcing him out of the game.
The Sens have officially placed Murray on the injured reserve list on Sunday, leaving backup
Anton Forsberg and prospect
Filip Gustavsson to fill the void until Murray is ready to return.
In addition to the Murray injury, the Sens have announced that rookie
Shane Pinto will also be sidelined for at least the next week or two with an upper-body injury.

Pinto had been out of the lineup since Thursday, after taking a stiff check by San Jose Sharks defenseman
Mario Ferraro.
