The Montreal Canadiens held a practice at the Bell Centre on Monday morning, and based on today's lines, it appears that forward Mike Hoffman will make his debut on Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.

Head coach Dominique Ducharme announced over the weekend that Hoffman will likely make his debut on Tuesday against San Jose or Thursday against Carolina.

Following today's practice, Hoffman told the media that he feels ready to play tomorrow, and that he's awaiting the green light from medical staff.

In other news from Monday's practice, forward Jake Evans had a maintenance day, and Adam Brooks took his spot on the third line. Goaltender Jake Allen worked on his own with goaltending coach Eric Raymond.

Defenceman Sami Niku hasn't played since October 1st when he suffered a concussion in a pre-season game against the Ottawa Senators. It's unclear if he'll also make his Canadiens regular season debut on Tuesday, but Chris Wideman, who appeared to be the odd man out based on lines, was included on the top powerplay unit.

Monday's lines were as follows:

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield
Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson
Hoffman-Brooks-Gallagher
Lehkonen-Perreault-Armia
Extras: Paquette, Belzile.

Romanov-Petry
Chiarot-Savard
Kulak-Niku
Extra: Wideman

Puck drop for Tuesday's game against San Jose is set for 7pm ET on RDS and TSN2.
