The Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Boston Bruins in the first game of the pre-season for each team and it was a physical one.
In the first period, Bruins defenceman
Connor Carrick laid a big hit on Antoine Roussel, who just signed a PTO with the Flyers earlier this week. Flyers forward
Wade Allison came to the defence of Roussel and fought Carrick.
Then in the second period, there was another tilt. Just over four minutes into the middle frame,
A.J. Greer of the Boston Bruins and
Hayden Hodgson of the Philadelphia Flyers dropped the mitts.
Both players are destined to play in the American Hockey League this season but are wanting to prove to their respective coaches and management staff that they deserve a shot in likely a fourth-line role.
