5- 2015-2016 Oklahoma City Thunder
PG: Russel Westbrook
SG: Andre Roberson
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Serge Ibaka
C: Steven Adams
One of the best teams ever built from an individual point. You have 3 future MVP's (one isn't even on the starting lineup in James Harden) and a lot of polyvalence. Two super-athletic beasts who can do miracles, a shooting guard who is a lockdown defender, a potential defensive player of the year at power forward and a little bit of everything at center. This team is probably the greatest «what if» of all time, if it wasn't of that disastrous playoff round against the Warriors, they could still very well be together and maybe on a dynasty run. The Oklahoma City Thunder went 55-27 and lost in the Western Conference finals in 7 to the Warriors. This is a prime example of lack of loyalty. After losing a series the Thunder were winning 3 to 1, Kevin Durant decided to leave Oklahoma and sign with the Warriors, the team that just beat him.
4- 2013-2014 San Antonio Spurs
PG: Tony Parker
SG: Danny Green
SF: Kawhi Leonard
PF: Tim Duncan
C: Thiago Splitter
The 2013-14 season represents the beginning of Kawhi Leonard's stardom. With his help, The aging big three of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili went on to win their fifth championship, as The Klaw got his first with a finals MVP award. This team was based on an excellent defense system of Gregg Popovich and had talent around the offensive end, which made them very hard to compete against. They dominated trough the season and finished with a 62-20 record and a championship. A perfect all-around team whose experience was their best attribute.
3- 2015-2016 Cleveland Cavaliers
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: JR Smith
SF: LeBron James
PF: Kevin Love
C: Tristan Thompson
This was probably the best memory for a majority of NBA fans. The Warriors (73-9) were dethroned by The King who finally won a championship for the city who drafted him. The Cavaliers were trailing 3 to 1 but they never gave up and went on to win the NBA Finals in 7. Kyrie Irving emerged as a real susperstar and clutch player, LeBron James confirmed his presence as one of the best to ever do it (now, it's either him or Jordan) and Kevin Love played well enough for Cleveland to have a chance. Over the year, the Cavaliers won 57 games out of 82, not the best regular season but only because they won against a stacked Warriors team makes them a top 3 decade team in my mind.
2-2012-2013 Miami Heat
PG: Mario Chalmers
SG: Dwayne Wade
SF: LeBron James
PF: Chris Bosh
C: Udonis Haslem
The "Decision" that led to others. This Miami squad was iconic. When LeBron James and Chris Bosh decided to sign with the Heat, we all knew this was the beginning of something big. The 2012-13 season proved it as the Florida organization went 66-16 with a championship in the books. This team won 27 games in a row (second best streak in NBA history) and won a tough series against the San Antonio Spurs in 7. This was, most people would say, the prime of LeBron James, as he won his second straight MVP and was in my opinion, also the best defensive player. This squad had great shooters, defensive players and playmakers.
1-2017-2018 Golden State Warriors
PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Klay Thompson
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Draymond Green
C: Zaza Pachulia
Of course, this is the best team of the decade, it could also be the best team ever assembled. You have two of the three best players in the world in Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, the best 3&D player of the NBA in Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, a defensive player of the year candidate. They may have fell short during the regular season with a 58-24 record, but the fact is on paper, this team is unbeatable when healthy. The Rockets, with a healthy Chris Paul, may have done it but nothing is sure. Plus, they absolutely destroyed LeBron James and the poor Cleveland Cavaliers in four games in the NBA Finals.
