For the second time since the NHL suspended play on March 12th, the league has extended the period for which players are required to self-isolate. After initially telling players to stay in their homes until March 27th, the NHL recently extended that to April 7th. Now comes word it has been extended once again.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the league is now telling players to self-isolate until Wednesday, April 15th, effectively extending the period by another week. This comes as North America and several other parts of the world continue to take steps to try to "flatten the curve" when it comes to the spread of COVID-19.

As of right now, there is no set date for the NHL to return for this season. If it does return, it will likely be just the playoffs. However, even that is looking less and less likely as the days pass with no end in site of new cases of the novel Corona Virus.
