The L.A. Kings have signed forward Tyler Madden to a three-year, entry-level deal. General manager Rob Blake announced the news Monday.

Madden was taken in the third round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks, but was traded to the Kings as part of the trade that saw Tyler Toffoli get sent to the Canucks on February 17th. He has spent the past two seasons playing with Northeastern University, and put up 19 goals and 37 points in just 27 games this season. He also helped his team win back-to-back Beanpot titles, and was nominated in both seasons for the Hobey Baker Award.

Tyler is the son of three-time Stanley Cup winner John Madden. In 2019, he represented Team USA at the IIHF World Junior Championship. His three goals and one assist in seven games helped Team USA capture a silver medal in the tournament.
